STYLISED FACTS ON R&D ALLIANCES

R&D alliances are a central character of the cognitive capitalism because of their crucial role on knowledge trajectories as well as on quantitative development of firms. They allow firms to escape from path dependency by opening their organisational and technical boundaries. Thus they offer to their actors a better probability of survival. How do they succeed in this aim is the main concern of this paper. I review here a subsequential number of factors that have been discussed in the empirical literature into stylising some facts characterising the dynamic of R&D alliances.
